I am sorry to confirm that as far as we are aware, ab72598 and ab97646 Cytochrome P450 2C8 + 2C9 + 2C18 + 2C19 antibodies have never been tested with samples from rat. All tested species cross-reactivitycovered by our guaranteeis stated on our datasheets, and these are updated as soon as any new information is brought to our attention.

I have checked the alignment of the rat protein with the immunogen sequences for the antibodies:

ab72598 immunogen ##########
16% alignment to the rat

ab97646 immungoen from a region within amino acids ####
73% alignment to the rat

We recommend that alignment should be over 85% to predict that an antibody will detect in a different species. However, we cannot guarantee this without first testing. As ab97646 has the higher alignment, this would be the preferable antibody to try. At 73% alignment, there may still be some crossreactivity. We would not suggest to try ab72598 in rat as the alignment is so low.
