Additional Notes
2% paraformaldehyde was used during perfusion and for post-fixation of the tissue before cryosectioning.
No labeling was observed in the intact brain in this species. Antigen retrieval using Tris-EDTA pH 9.0 was attempted but did not improve the detection of the target.

Abcam response
Thank you for your valuable feedback. To our knowledge, this antibody has not yet been tested for reactivity in Apteronotus leptorhynchus or for utility in PFA fixed, frozen sections. It may be ab19897 either does not react with Sonic Hedgehog in this species or is not useful in IHC-Fr. Perhaps future reviews will bear this out.
The reviewer received a reward from Abcam’s Loyalty Program in thanks for submitting this Abreview and for helping the scientific community make better-informed decisions.
