Any chemical (for eg: glycerol) should be added to it when we aliquot it for freezing?

Thank you for your reply.

Addition of glycerol to the antibody should not be required to maintain the activity of the antibody, however, if the customer wants to add glycerol please make them aware that glycerol can be contaminated with bacteria. If adding glycerol or any cryoprotectant, care should be taken to obtain a sterile preparation. Storing solutions containing glycerol at -80oC is not advised since this is below the freezing point of glycerol.

Can I get your advice on the storage method of this Donkey anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (FITC) secondary antibody" with cat number: ab7079?

It is a FITC conjugated secondary antibody. The datasheet of the product recommend it to be store at -20°C or -80°C.

Conjugated antibody stable to be store at -20C or -80C ? Freezing and thawing will not affect the conjugation?

Thank you for contacting us and your interest in our products.

We would advise storing the Donkey anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (FITC) secondary antibody (ab7079) at +4°C short term (1-2 weeks). For longer term storage we would advise storing the antibody at -20°C or -80°C.We would advise avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles as far as possible as this can affect the activity of antibodies. We would therefore recommend aliguoting the antibody before freezing.
