  • 機能

    Tyrosine-protein kinase implicated in the control of cell growth. Plays a role in the regulation of intracellular calcium levels, with isoform 2 showing the greater ability to mobilize cytoplasmic calcium in comparison to isoform 1. Required in brain development and mature brain function with important roles in the regulation of axon growth, axon guidance, and neurite extension. Blocks axon outgrowth and attraction induced by NTN1 by phosphorylating its receptor DDC. Phosphorylates RUNX3.

Inquiry: I would like to buy an anti-Fyn antibody made in mouse that detects fyn form human and mouse tissues. This product 1881 says it is like this but the picture of the blot shows a band higher than 59 KDa and also says it was used an anti-goat secondary antibody. could you clarify about all this?

The image on the datasheet of ab1881 shows a WB with the positive control ab84696.
ab84696 is a Active human Fyn full length protein that has a tag. The tag has a size of ca. 26kDa.
Therefore the band at ca 85 kDa is what we would expect.
If you are using a sample with endogenous Fyn the expected size is ca 59 kDa.

The activity of this protein is 166nmol/min/mg and was assessed using the gold standard radiometric approach where a radio-labeled p33 was used to quantify the phosphorylation of the kinase to its substrate.
