EAP30 also known as VPS22 or SNF8 is a component of the ESCRT-II complex with a mass of approximately 30 kDa. It plays an important role in the endosomal sorting process a mechanism that directs the transport of ubiquitinated transmembrane proteins for lysosomal degradation. EAP30 is expressed in various tissues but shows high expression levels in cells involved in membrane trafficking and processes requiring active protein sorting.

The EAP30 protein functions as part of the ESCRT-II complex which is essential for the formation of multivesicular bodies (MVBs) and their sorting machinery.
