ART4 also known as CD297 and DOK1 play critical roles in cell signaling. ART4 belongs to the ADP-ribosyltransferase family and is a GPI-anchored protein with a molecular mass of about 30 kDa while DOK1 is an adapter protein with a molecular mass around 50 kDa. ART4 is expressed on erythrocytes and some lymphocyte subpopulations and DOK1 is expressed in various tissues most notably in hematopoietic cells.
Biological function summary

The two proteins engage in distinct functions within cellular mechanisms. ART4 participates in cell communication and receptor signaling on the cell surface. DOK1 acts as a modulator of signal transduction being part of signalosome complexes. Their interaction facilitates proper signaling which influences cell growth and immune responses.
