: Hello. I am interested in using the HRP conjugated ovalbumin product (ab53867) for an ELISA assay that I'm currently planning to develop. I have a set of monoclonal antibodies that I will need to use for capturing the HRP-OVA, and it would be helpful for me to know where on the ovalbumin protein the HRP is located. Thanks.

Answer

Thank you for your inquiry regarding ab53867. We do not map the exact location of the HRP on the Ovalbumin protein. In the conjugation process, we preiodate oxidize the HRP to form aldehyde groups. These aldehyde groups conjugate to the protein via amine groups by reductive amination with sodium borohydride. We have used this product in Ovalbumin specific IgE assays as a positive control with no issues.
