      Inquiry: I am running Western blots with rat brain samples using ZFP47 antibody (ab45341), as well as KAP1 antibody (ab22553) and pS473-KAP1 antibody (ab109545). I wonder whether these antibodies have been tested for their specificity (e.g. using knockout/knockdown tissues, using tissues known to not express these proteins). Thank you!

      Question

      I ordered and have been using antibody ab45341 (ZFP57).  I am getting a band in the correct rage of approx 70kda, however I am also getting a band around 105kda. It has the same pattern as the 70kda band, and I was wondering if you had any idea as to what it might be? Any help would be greatly appreciated. These are rat brain samples.

      Our testing did show a band at this range in mouse brain lysate as well (https://www.abcam.com/Zfp57-antibody-ab45341.html#ab45341_1.jpg) that we were not able to identify. To our knowledge, this product has not previously been tested in rat however taking into account the appearance of a band at this weight in our mouse data, this effect is not surprising.

      Hi, I am interested in getting an antibody directed against ZFP57 for chromatin immune-precipitation experiments in humans. I found the reference ab50944 in your catalogue but I know another lab didn't manage to get succesfull ChIP with it. In contrary, there is the reference ab45341 in mice that was recently used in a paper (PMID=22055183). This mouse antibody is directed to the middle of the protein while the human one is directed against the first 50 amino acids of the protein, that correspond to the KRAP domain of the molecule, that is bound by KAP1. The paper in mouse also performed coimmunoprecipitation with antibodies against KAP1, that would be impossible with the human version of your antibody. Thus, I have four questions: - Can ab45341 also be used in humans? - Have you got evidence that ab50944 works for ChIP applications? - Are you currently developing other human antibodies against ZFP57 that you would release soon? - Is that possible to ask you to develop such a ZFP57 antibody?
