Biological function summary
Zearalenone impacts reproductive systems in animals by competing with endogenous estrogens for receptor binding leading to disruptions in reproductive cycles and development. While not part of a specific protein complex Zearalenone's interaction with estrogen receptors allows it to interfere with normal hormonal signaling pathways.
