補足情報

This supplementary information is collated from multiple sources and compiled automatically.

The Yellow Fever Virus commonly abbreviated as YFV is a positive-sense single-stranded RNA virus with an approximate mass of 11 kilobases. It belongs to the Flaviviridae family sharing similarities with other viruses like dengue and Zika. The virus is transmitted by mosquito vectors primarily in tropical regions of Africa and South America. Upon transmission the virus targets and replicates in human liver cells or hepatocytes which facilitates its spread throughout the body.
Biological function summary

The Yellow Fever Virus disrupts multiple cellular processes by hijacking the host cell’s machinery to propagate. Its RNA genome encodes a single polyprotein which further cleaves into individual proteins some of which form complexes to assist in viral replication and assembly. The virus employs these proteins to evade the host immune response ensuring its survival and proliferation within the host. As a result the infection culminates in severe damage to hepatic tissues and blood circulatory disturbances.

Pathways

Other flaviviruses like the Yellow Fever Virus exploit host cell pathways such as the ubiquitin-proteasome system and the ER-associated degradation (ERAD) pathway. These pathways enable efficient viral protein processing and replication. YFV proteins closely interact with host proteins involved in these cellular pathways such as heat shock proteins and chaperones which assist in viral replication and assembly through their functions in protein folding and stabilization.

Yellow Fever Virus is the causative agent of yellow fever an acute viral hemorrhagic disease. Infection may lead to a range of symptoms from mild flu-like symptoms to severe liver damage jaundice and hemorrhage. The virus displays a connection with other proteins involved in inflammatory responses such as cytokines which exacerbate the symptoms during severe infection. The immune response against YFV and its interactions with these proteins are critical to the progression and severity of the disease.
