UBAP2 also known as Ubiquitin-Associated Protein 2 plays a role in cellular processes by interacting with ubiquitin-related pathways. It has a mass of approximately 115 kDa. This protein functions mainly in the cytoplasm but is also present in the nucleus in certain cell types. UBAP2 expression occurs in a wide range of tissues with higher levels observed in immune cells such as lymphocytes.

Biological function summary

UBAP2 interacts with components of the endosomal sorting complex required for transport (ESCRT) machinery. This interaction suggests a role in vesicle trafficking and membrane dynamics. UBAP2 has not been reported as part of a complex but might work closely with other ubiquitin-interacting proteins to regulate endocytic processes.
