  • 関連性

    SUMO proteins, such as Sumo 2 and Sumo 3, post-translationally modify numerous cellular proteins and affect their metabolism and function. However, unlike ubiquitination, which targets proteins for degradation, sumoylation participates in a number of cellular processes, such as nuclear transport, transcriptional regulation, apoptosis, and protein stability. Sumo 2 and Sumo 3 are highly homologous, hence it is very difficult to produce antibodies which distinguish them.

Question

I had ever ordered and used your antibody product which was the ab81371 mouse Anti-Sumo 2+3 antibody [8A2] - ChIP Grade (Lot: GR57044-5), but it seemed that there was a cross reaction with my protein of interest, human eIF4G, from western blotting. However, I would still like to buy another one from your company. Is it possible that you will give me some aliqout of anti-sumo 2+3 antibodies you have in stock right now in order to trial the cross reactio with the protein?

Thank you for contacting us. Because we carry over 100,000 products, it isn't feasible for us to keep small sample sizes of our products.

We are happy to reassure our customers that all of our products are covered by our Abpromise, which guarantees that the product will work in the applications and species specified on the datasheet, or we will offer a replacement, credit, or refund within 12 months of purchase.

So my suggestion would be to try the antibody and if not completely satisfied we will either replace the antibody or give you a different product to try.

Thank you for your enquiry and your interest in our products.
This particular antibody is not affinity purified but ascitic fluid so the concentration is not determined. As a general guidance, the concentration range is between: 5 - 10 mg/ml and the recommended dilution factor for IP would be 1/100. You may wish to take a look at this Table for further details:

If an antibody is ChIP grade, it means that it has been specifically tested in ChIP application in the Lab or we have specific published data available for the product so is suitable for this application.
