STRBP also referred to as Spermatid Perinuclear RNA Binding Protein is a protein with a molecular mass of approximately 75 kDa. STRBP binds to RNA and has been identified as having a role in the regulation of RNA metabolism. The protein shows enriched expression in the testis suggesting a role in spermatogenesis. STRBP also contains distinct RNA-binding domains which help in its interactions with various RNA molecules in the cellular environment.
Biological function summary

STRBP participates in processes linked to RNA stabilization and processing. It acts in the formation of ribonucleoprotein complexes within the cell interacting with specific RNA substrates to influence their structure and function.
