Protein phosphatase which regulates actin filament dynamics. Dephosphorylates and activates the actin binding/depolymerizing factor cofilin, which subsequently binds to actin filaments and stimulates their disassembly. Inhibitory phosphorylation of cofilin is mediated by LIMK1, which may also be dephosphorylated and inactivated by this protein. -

Immunoprecipitation - Anti-Slingshot homolog 1/SSH1 antibody (ab76943)
Slingshot/ SSH1 was immunoprecipitated from HeLa whole cell lysate (1 mg per IP reaction, 20% loaded) with ab76943 at 3 µg per reaction. Western blot was performed on the immunoprecipitate using ab76943 at 0.04 µg/mL.
Lane 1: ab76943 IP in HeLa whole cell lysate.
Lane 2: rabbit anti-SSH1 antibody recognising a downstream epitope IP in HeLa whole cell lysate.
Lane 3: rabbit anti-SSH1 antibody recognising a downstream epitope IP in HeLa whole cell lysate.
