Immunoprecipitation - Anti-SEC10 antibody (AB241472)
SEC10 was immunoprecipitated from HeLa (human epithelial cell line from cervix adenocarcinoma) whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) with ab241472 at 6 μg/reaction. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ab241472 at 1 μg/ml.
Lane 1 : ab241472 IP in HeLa whole cell lysate.
Lane 2 : Control IgG IP in HeLa whole cell lysate.
Detection : Chemiluminescence with exposure time of 3 minutes.
Lysates prepared in NETN lysis buffer.

Biological function summary
SEC10 is an integral component of the exocyst complex which plays an important role in the final stages of vesicle fusion with the plasma membrane. This complex consists of proteins like Sec3 Sec5 Sec6 Sec8 Sec10 Sec15 Exo70 and Exo84. SEC10's specific contribution to the exocyst complex is in facilitating the spatial regulation of vesicle docking impacting processes like cell migration and growth regulation.
Pathways
SEC10 participates in important biological pathways such as the vesicle-mediated transport and endocytosis pathways. Through these pathways it interacts with proteins like Rab GTPases and SNAREs assisting in the proper fusion of vesicles with the destination membrane. SEC10's ability to correlate vesicle movement with membrane sites helps maintain cellular homeostasis and signal transduction.
