PTPRZ gene generates three isoforms by alternative splicing: two transmembrane isoforms PTPRZ-A and PTPRZ-B, and one secretory isoform PTPRZ-S which is also known as phosphacan. All three isoforms expressed in the brain are highly glycosylated with chondroitin sulfate. After chondroitinase ABC treatment, several bands in the range from 380 to 90 kDa were observed. The molecular weight observed is consistent with what has been described in the literature (PMID:18713734).

The immunostaining was performed on a Leica Biosystems BOND® RX instrument. Counterstained with Hematoxylin.
