I received some useful information from the laboratory that developed this antibody: "In human lung we see two very clean bands, one around 29kD and the other around 60kD. This protein is reported as being synthesised as a 31kD protein and a signal peptide cleaved prior to secretion resulting in a 27kd protein, a couple of papers have shown these two bands. This protein does form a dimer and under non reducing conditions the two proteins 29 and 60kd are clearly visible. This is shown very clearly in a recently published paper (http://www.biochemj.org/bj/imps/abs/BJ20071428.htm). We would suggest the customer have a read of this paper. We would send an image of a blot but one of our researchers wishes to use it in a publication shortly. We see the two bands 29 and 60kD even on reducing gel/blots which probably reflects incomplete reduction. The blots in the paper above are very similar to what we achieve."
