製品の詳細

A molecular complex composed of Rab27A, MYRIP and myosin VIIa bridges retinal melanosomes to the actin cytoskeleton and thereby mediates the local trafficking of these organelles. The defect of this molecular complex is likely to account for the perinuclear mislocalization of the melanosomes observed in the retinal pigment epithelium cells of myosin VIIa-defective mice.

補足情報

This supplementary information is collated from multiple sources and compiled automatically.

MYRIP also known as Myosin VIIA and Rab Interacting Protein plays a role in linking Rab27A to myosin motor proteins which is essential for the transportation of cellular components. It is a protein with a molecular mass of approximately 131 kDa. MYRIP expresses in various tissues including the retina where it supports the function of photoreceptor cells. The protein also shows presence in specialized secretory cells contributing to the regulation of secretory pathways.
Biological function summary

MYRIP facilitates the connection between specific motor proteins and vesicle-bound Rab proteins forming part of a complex responsible for vesicle movement along actin filaments. By acting as an adapter it links the actin cytoskeleton with membrane-bound organelles and vesicles influencing intracellular transport and distribution. Its role in these complexes indicates its involvement in cellular trafficking mechanisms necessary for maintaining cellular organization and function.

Pathways

MYRIP engages in the exocytosis pathway and melanosome transport. It interacts with Rab27A participating in the pathway that mediates the transport of melanosomes within cells. This interaction is key to controlling the delivery of pigment granules in melanocytes. Additionally the exocytosis pathway relies on MYRIP for effective secretion where it works alongside other proteins like Rab27B to manage vesicle docking and fusion at the plasma membrane.

MYRIP relates to conditions like Griscelli syndrome type 1 which involves a defect in the transport of melanosomes. Changes or malfunctions in MYRIP or its associated proteins including Rab27A disrupt normal pigment distribution leading to this type of disorder. Furthermore given its expression in the retina MYRIP also connects to visual impairments wherein its dysfunction could affect photoreceptor cell health.

ターゲットの情報

Rab effector protein involved in melanosome transport. Serves as link between melanosome-bound RAB27A and the motor proteins MYO5A and MYO7A. May link RAB27A-containing vesicles to actin filaments. Functions as a protein kinase A-anchoring protein (AKAP). May act as a scaffolding protein that links PKA to components of the exocytosis machinery, thus facilitating exocytosis, including insulin release (By similarity).
