HYT 27, does react in WB with both Ag85A, B and C, see the paper by Armitige LY and colleagues, whom used HYT 27 in WB (on page 774, fbpA antibody) and showed very good reaction with A.

I have had the opportunity to speak with the lab regarding the specificity and cross reactivity of ab36731.

Specificity:

HYT 27 is specific for Mycobacterium mycolyltransferase. Reacts with M. tuberculosis Ag85C and M. smegmatis Ag85 homolog protein.
No cross-reactivity to antigens from Listeria monocytogenes or Escherichia coli.

Reactivity:

HYT 27 reacts strongly in ELISA with M. tuberculosis cell culture filtrate or whole cells directly coated onto the microtiter wells.
In Western blotting after SDS-PAGE, HYT 27 reacts strongly with Ag85C and weaker with Ag85A and Ag85B.

Thank you for your enquiry. I regret to inform you that the originator of this antibody no longer has sufficient stocks for us to be able to make this product available to our customers. We have therefore been forced to withdraw ab34957 from our product range. I do hope that this does not cause you too much inconvenience. I have conducted a search for you and found some alternative antibodies which may suit your need: - Unlabelled: ab43019 ab36731 ab905 ab20962 - Biotin-conjugated: ab20027 - it has only been tested in IHC-P I hope this helps and if I can assist further, please do not hesitate to contact me.
