補足情報

This supplementary information is collated from multiple sources and compiled automatically.

LZP also known as leucine zipper protein is a structural protein that plays a significant role in various cellular processes. It has a molecular mass of approximately 25 kDa. LZP is expressed highly in the liver and lungs with moderate expression observed in the brain and heart. The presence of the leucine zipper motif in LZP allows it to function as a transcription factor facilitating the regulation of gene expression through dimerization and DNA binding.
Biological function summary

LZP interacts with other proteins to regulate cell proliferation and differentiation. The protein forms part of a larger complex involved in these cellular processes. Through its action in transcription regulation LZP influences the expression of genes critical for cell cycle progression and apoptosis. During normal cellular function LZP maintains a balance between cell growth and programmed cell death contributing to tissue homeostasis.

Pathways

Research identifies LZP playing a role in the MAPK/ERK signaling pathway and the NF-κB signaling pathway. These pathways are essential for transmitting signals from the cell surface to the DNA in the nucleus impacting cell survival and differentiation. LZP interacts closely with proteins such as c-Jun and p53 within these pathways suggesting its importance in signal transduction and gene transcription.

LZP has connections to certain types of cancer including liver and lung cancer. Studies indicate that aberrant expression or mutations in LZP can lead to uncontrolled cell proliferation contributing to tumorigenesis. In addition LZP's interaction with the protein p53 known for its tumor-suppressing activities highlights its role in these diseases. Understanding LZP's functions and pathways offers potential targets for therapeutic intervention in related disorders.
