    WB: 1/2000. Detects a band of approximately 110 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 88 kDa). Can be blocked with Integrin beta 5 peptide (786-799) (ab45697).
    ELISA: This antibody gave a positive result in ELISA against the immunizing peptide. Antibody detection limit dilution 1:16,000.

    Not yet tested in other applications.
    Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

    Inquiry: Integrin beta 5 (ITGB5) antibodies on Western: Do you have an idea why ab31327 recognizes a protein of 100 kDa, while ab53111, ab55359 and ab116570 recognize a proten with the expected MW of 100 kDa?

    Thank you for your enquiry.

    The integrin beta 5protein is known to be glycosylated. Some other integrin beta 5 antibodies do show a ˜100 kDa and this is probably the glycosylated form.

    The following Uniprot protein database entry for integrin beta 5 has some information on the glycosylation sites:
    http://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P18084

    Our source for this antibody has informed me they have also found 88 kDa band witha few tissues, but there was lots of breakdown signals. The human ovary and mouse eye lysates looked a lot cleaner. The post translationalglycoslyation and size of the band may therefore be different for individual tissues.
