Biological function summary
FRY contributes to diverse cell activities beyond mechanical support. This protein is part of a complex contributing to cell polarity and mitosis essential for proper cell orientation and division. An important function includes its participation in the organization of mitotic spindles structures needed during cell division to evenly separate chromosomes. Given these functions FRY maintains cell structure integrity and supports proper DNA segregation among daughter cells during mitosis.
