FGD5 also known as Faciogenital Dysplasia 5 is a protein that functions mechanically as a Rho GTPase exchange factor. It has an approximate mass of 145 kilodaltons. FGD5 features an FYVE finger domain which is essential for its binding to phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate. It is expressed significantly in endothelial cells suggesting a role in vascular development. Additionally FGD5 can be found in various tissues throughout the body highlighting its potential diverse functions.
Biological function summary

FGD5 contributes to cytoskeletal organization by activating the Rho family of GTPases which are important for cell shape and movement.
