Anti-Clostridium difficile Toxin A 抗体 (ab35021)

This antibody targets Toxin A produced by C. difficile, rather than the organism itself. Unfortunately we do not have information regarding the strains of C. difficile toxin this antibody has been tested against. The immunogen of this peptide is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the native molecule conjugated to Keyhole limpet Haemocyanin. The immunogen peptide sequences is CTIDGKKYYFN. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee cross reactivity across all C. difficile strains.

In regards to the anti-Clostridium difficile Toxin A antibody [B618M] (ab82285), strictly speaking this antibody would not be covered by the Abpromise for the experiment you have been performing as we have not tested it in ELISA ourselves and it is not listed as an application on the datasheet of the antibody. As you say, I would expect the antibody to work in ELISA but due to the potential difference in how the epitope is presented in the different sample types the antibody may not be suitable for it.

I understand the effort you have put into optimising these antibodies and I would be willing to bend the rules slightly for you. As discussed over the phone, as both ab35021 and ab93318 are rabbit polyclonal antibodies and are raised against the same peptide sequence, I would not suggest using these as an ELISA pair.

Using an antibody such as https://www.abcam.com/Clostridium-difficile-Toxin-A-antibody-PCG4-ab19953.htmlwould prove more advantageous as it is raised in a different species (and can therefore be specifically differentiated from the other antibodyby the secondary antibody used). It has been raised against the full length Toxin A protein and is likely (but not guaranteed)to detect a different epitope to ab35021 and ab93318.
