The CHD2 protein also known as Chromodomain-Helicase-DNA-binding protein 2 acts as an ATP-dependent chromatin remodeler. This protein has a mass of approximately 210 kDa. CHD2 is expressed in various tissues with higher expression levels noted in the brain and skeletal muscle. As a part of the chromatin remodeling family CHD2 plays a role in modifying the structure of chromatin to affect gene expression.
Biological function summary

CHD2 contributes to DNA repair and transcription regulation by modifying chromatin structure. It is a part of the CHD family of chromatin remodelers which influences nucleosome positioning and accessibility.
