    Plays pivotal roles in spermatogenesis, embryo implantation, neural network formation and tumor progression. Stimulates adjacent fibroblasts to produce matrix metalloproteinases (MMPS). May target monocarboxylate transporters SLC16A1, SLC16A3 and SLC16A8 to plasma membranes of retinal pigment epithelium and neural retina. Seems to be a receptor for oligomannosidic glycans. In vitro, promotes outgrowth of astrocytic processes.

    Our Lab bought two kinds of antibody from your company. They are Anti-CD147 antibody [EPR4052] ab108317 and Anti-CD147 antibody [OX114] ab34016.Here we have some questions about these two antibodies:

    1. In the datasheet of Anti-CD147 antibody [EPR4052] ab108317, we have found the description of the Immunogen as Synthetic peptide, corresponding to internal sequence amino acids 175-200 of Human CD147. Is the amino acids 175-200 mainly located in the transmembranedomain of CD147? Have you identified the antigen epitope for the antibody ab108317?

    2. In the datasheet of Anti-CD147 antibody [OX114] ab34016, we only find a description of the Immunogen as fusion protein. Could you tell us more information about the immunogen, so that we could know which domain the antibody binds to,the intracellular domain or the extracellular domain of CD147?

    The epitope that ab108317 recognizes is extracellular, within the range of amino acids from 175 - 200 of human CD147, UniProt P35613. http://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P35613.

    The immunogen for the rat monoclonal [OX114], ab34016, and mapping of the epitope it recognizes, is described in Hanna et al, BMC Biochem. 2003 Nov 7;4:17. PMID:14606962.

    The description of the immunogen is in the Methods section, "Cloning of the novel domain of mouse CD147 and production of soluble recombinant CD147 extracellular regions". In brief, the immunogen sequence is extracellular.
