I would like to reassure you that our antibodies have all been tested successfully and would be covered by our guarantee in the applications listed on the datasheets. Therefore, any MRP8 and MRP14 antibody tested in the species and application you are using should be suitable for your applications.

Also, although we produce many in-house antibodies, we obtain other antibodies from a wide range of sources. Therefore, comparison experiments will not often have been done.

If you wish to be more certain, I can suggest choosing the antibody that has been best characterized. By this I mean the antibody that has been tested in the most applications and has the most data available (on the datasheet).

For your experiment, maybe an antibody that will bind to both proteins will be suitable? ab17050 recognises an epitope on the MRP8 + MRP14 complex which is not exposed on the individual subunits.

Unfortunately we do not have a detailled protocol for use on paraffin sections. The application has been added in the past upon personal communication by the scientists who developed the antibody. Please note that Calprotectin is only expressed in inflammatory tissue and even then it depends at which time point in the inflammatory process tissue sections are obtained. We would recommend to carefully read thearticle mentioned on the datasheet to set up initial experiments with right positive control using frozen sections. If that protocol is optimal we would then try to transfer to paraffin sections of tissues obtained under similar conditions using standard IHC protocol/antigen retrieval.

As a general guideline, I would suggest starting with citrate buffer as antigen retrieval.
