I am sorry we do not have any data to confirm how many ab molecules binds to CRP. Theoretically, I agree there is possibility of binding 5 ab molecule per pentamer of CRP however we can't be sure as we do not know for how many chains the epitope is exposed for antibody binding.

I am sorry due to non availability of tested we will not be able to confirm this.

The immunogen for these antibodies is a proprietary information. These antibodies are raised sing full length human CRP protein. The two products are tested positive in sandwich ELISA.

I agree that the differences in the protocol may be contributing to the background you're experiencing. I'm working with my colleagues to see if we can provide the unconjugated C2, and I will update you as soon as I have more information about this antibody.

We do not have a full protocol for testing blood plasma CRP protein, and since the titer of this protein is variable, it would be a good idea to try a few dilutions of your plasma samples to determine the optimal dilution. I would recommend using at least a 1:1 dilution to reduce any possible matrix effects that can obscure the specific signal.

The DELFIA washing buffer is only necessary for the specific one-step immunoassay that the lab ran with the Eu-conjugated detection antibody, and I don't think that this buffer will improve the results in a more standard ELISA. PBS or PBST should be a sufficient washing buffer to reduce non-specific binding.

I've heard back from the lab, and these antibodies were actually tested together in a one-step fluoroimmunoassay;please see the full protocol attached. This protocol is not a standard sandwich ELISA protocol, and I'm not sure that it will be helpful as a referencefor the kind of assay that you are running.

Based on the information that you've given me, I'd be happy to send a different antibody to try in the assay. We only have the HRP-conjugated C2 clone in our catalog at this time, but I cancheck whetherweare able tosend a vial of unconjugated C2 if you'd like. If there is a different CRP antibody that you would like to try, I can send that instead.

We do not use the terminology C number. These does not depicts any information other the clone numbers for a particular antibody.

The best pair is C2-C6 (ab24461 detection - ab8278 capture)
C5-C6 (ab8279 capture - ab24462 detection)
C7-C6 (ab8280 capture - ab24462 detection)
Please ab24462 is a HRP conjugated anti C reactive protein antibody; due to the conjugation it will be a good detection antibody.
