Human C1QA SimpleStep ELISA® kit is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of C1QA protein in human serum, plasma, cell culture media and CSF. Quantitate Human C1QA with 27.522 pg/ml sensitivity.
SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details. Our SimpleStep ELISA® technology provides several benefits:
-Single-wash protocol reduces assay time to 90 minutes or less

C1q associates with the proenzymes C1r and C1s to yield C1, the first component of the serum complement system. The collagen-like regions of C1q interact with the Ca(2+)-dependent C1r(2)C1s(2) proenzyme complex, and efficient activation of C1 takes place on interaction of the globular heads of C1q with the Fc regions of IgG or IgM antibody present in immune complexes. -

Defects in C1QA are the cause of complement component C1qA deficiency (C1QAD) [MIM:120550]. A rare defect resulting in C1 deficiency and impaired activation of the complement classical pathway. C1 deficiency generally leads to severe immune complex disease with features of systemic lupus erythematosus and glomerulonephritis. -

Interpolated concentrations of human C1QA in serum, plasma-citrate, plasma-EDTA, and plasma-heparin.Interpolated concentration of native C1QA was measured in duplicate at different sample concentrations. Undiluted samples are 1:10,000 in serum, plasma-citrate, plasma-EDTA, and plasma-heparin. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +/- SD, n=2). Sample dilutions are made in Sample Diluent NS.

Interpolated concentrations of C1QA in normal human serum donors.Serum of ten individual healthy human female donors was measured in duplicate. Interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted (mean +- SD, n=2). The mean C1QA concentration was determined to be 105.6 µg/mL with a range of 61.8 – 138.2 µg/mL.
