Red fluorophore standard for neurological staining and enzyme assays.

Used as polar tracers for the studies of neuronal cell morphology and cell-cell communications. Sulforhodamine 101 can label astrocytes and myelinating oligodendrocytes. It has a longer absorption wavelength than sulforhodamine B and G.
