Protease Inhibitor Cocktail (ab65621)

Thank you for contacting us.  To reconstitute this product, add 250-µl DMSO to the vial and pipet several times to dissolve all powder (This makes 500X concentrated inhibitor cocktail).  I have added these instructions to our datasheet.  I hope this helps, please let me know if you need any additional information. 

I can confirm that ab65621 Protease Inhibitor Cocktail can be used on saliva samples.

The protease inhibitor cocktail can be stored in small aliquots at -20C after reconstitution in DMSO for 1 year. We recommend to avoid freezing and thawing during this time.

After reconstituting in DMSO, the cocktail should be stored at -20C.

The laboratory said you can reconstitute ab65621 in 250 µl of DMSO. This makes it 250 µl of 500X inhibitor cocktail. Which means that for every 500 µl of your sample can add 1 µl of the inhibitor. These reconstitution instructions are applicable for serum, plasma, and lysate samples.

Could you please provide a catalog number for this product? I did find that we do carry a Protease Inhibitors and have attached the SDS from our datasheet for that product (ab65621) however if this is not the correct product please let me know and I will locate the appropriate SDS.

This product is provided as a lyophilized powder. You have to reconstitute it in 250 µl of DMSO. This makes it 250 µl of 500X inhibitor cocktail. Which means that for every 499 or 500 µl of the lysate you can add 1 µl of the inhibitor. This means that the total amount of this inhibitor i.e., 250 µl is enough for 500 x 250 µl of the lysate, which is 125 ml of lysate.

Therefore 500 is the dilution factor, I am not sure what the weight means.

Para diluir el inhibidor enzimático se puede usar indistintamente agua destilada, desionizada o grado biología molecular. Siempre es más recomendable usar agua Milli Q, pero no es indispensable.
