      Transcription factor that binds to the octamer motif (5'-ATTTGCAT-3') and activates the promoters of the genes for some small nuclear RNAs (snRNA) and of genes such as those for histone H2B and immunoglobulins. Modulates transcription transactivation by NR3C1, AR and PGR (By similarity). In case of human herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection, POU2F1 forms a multiprotein-DNA complex with the viral transactivator protein VP16 and HCFC1 thereby enabling the transcription of the viral immediate early genes.

    just one last request, the customer was thinking of getting oct 1 antibody, anti-human, for the purpose of FACS, ICC and WB but I could only find:

    I purchased your antibody (ab15112), but it did not work for western blotting (very strong signal around 30 kDa and non-specific bands around 33 kDa and 52 kDa and back ground). My sample is HeLa whole cell lysates and they worked for other antibodies. I also followed your suggestion in the product information. Could you let me know which condition your company used for western blotting? And, if it is possible, could you send me a positive control for this antibody?

    I received confirmation from the laboratory that tested this antibody that it gave a It 80kDa band on Jurkat lysate, however Raji lysate it gave a weak 80kDa band and a strong 32kDa band, which might be a truncated form. I would recommend to run the Jurkat lysate control along your samples to see what band size you see.
