Additional Notes
As we use chemifluorescent detection on a Typhoon 9410 scanner, there is no film to expose. Therefore, the membrane is directly scanned in the scanner and the fluorescent signals achieved when illuminated with cetain wavelengths are converted through a photomultiplier into pixels on the computer screen. In the Typhoon setup there is no such thing called exposure time. Instead, the user can
adjust parameters such as excitation and filtration wavelengths, PMT voltage
and sensitivity (similar to exposure, but just given as low/normal/high).
