The antibody detects polypeptides of ca 50 and ca 80 kD after SDS PAGE of whole cell extracts from Drosophila. Using 2 ug of antibody Ab5072 bound to Prot A beads (uncoupled) the antibody seems to precipitate a polypeptide slightly smaller than 80 kD (the 50 kD polypeptide can't be detected due to IgG interference signal). Since an antibody against the annotated 130 kD form of Ago2 does not crossreact with neither the 50 nor 80 kDa species detected by Ab5072 the IP result is inconclusive.
