Use at an assay dependent concentration. Preliminary experiments gave an approx 85kDa band in Mouse fetal Brain lysates after 0.3µg/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 55.9kDa according to NP_775567.2. The 85kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. We would appreciate any feedback from people in the field.

Genetic variation in TPH2 may influence susceptibility to major depressive disorder (MDD) [MIM:608516]. Defects in TPH2 are the cause of susceptibility to attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder type 7 (ADHD7) [MIM:613003]. ADHD is a neurobehavioral developmental disorder and is primarily characterized by the co-existence of attentional problems and hyperactivity, with each behavior occurring infrequently alone. Note=Naturally occurring variants of TPH2 with impaired enzyme activity could cause deficiency of serotonin production and result in an increased risk of developing behavioral disorders.

IHC-P image of THP2 staining on mouse sections of Substantia Nigra using ab121020 (1:800). The sections were deparaffinized and subjected to heat mediated antigen retrieval using citric acid. The sections were them blocked using 1% BSA for 10 mins at 21°C. ab121020 was diluted 1:800and incubated with the sections for 2 hours at 21°C. The secondary antibody used was rabbit polyclonal to goat IgG conjugated to HRP.
