Use at an assay dependent dilution. Use in combination with ab47821 to neutralize concentrated virus for at least 12 days.
Poliovirus, the causative agent of poliomyelitis, was first isolated nearly 100 years ago. It may infect the nervous system and cause lasting paralysis. Poliovirus is a single stranded RNA virus and a member of the Picornavirus family. It has three strains: Poliovirus 1, 2 and 3. Replication of poliovirus RNA is accomplished by the error-prone viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerase. The cell receptor for poliovirus is CD155.
