Thickvein is a (Drosophila spp) type I transmembrane receptor that mediates signaling by decapentaplegic (dpp), a member of the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) subgroup of TGF beta-type factors. Thickvein belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. There are four isoforms discovered so far, isoforms A-D.
