Additional Notes
The antibody was applied on 16 µm thick transverse sections of adult brown ghost knifefish brain and spinal cord. 2% paraformaldehyde was used during perfusion and for post-fixation of the tissue before cryosectioning. The antibody appears completely unspecific, giving a very weak, uniform labeling. Antigen retrieval protocols, including incubation with AntigenPlus buffer at pH 6.0, 7.4, and 10.0 were also attempted, but did not improve the immunolabeling. The image shows the observed result in the cerebellum.
Abcam response
Thank you very much for your efforts testing this antibody and the valuable feedback provided! We are sorry to hear that this antibody does not work with brown ghost knifefish samples under the mentioned conditions.
The reviewer received a reward from Abcam’s Loyalty Program in thanks for submitting this Abreview and for helping the scientific community make better-informed decisions.
