機能
Component of the CYFIP1-EIF4E-FMR1 complex which binds to the mRNA cap and mediates translational repression. In the CYFIP1-EIF4E-FMR1 complex this subunit is an adapter between EIF4E and FMR1. Promotes the translation repression activity of FMR1 in brain probably by mediating its association with EIF4E and mRNA (By similarity). Involved in formation of membrane ruffles and lamellipodia protrusions and in axon outgrowth. Binds to F-actin but not to RNA. Regulator of epithelial morphogenesis. May act as an invasion suppressor in cancers. -
配列類似性
Belongs to the CYFIP family. -
細胞内局在
Cytoplasm > perinuclear region. Cell projection > lamellipodium. Cell projection > ruffle. Cell junction > synapse > synaptosome. Highly expressed in the perinuclear region. Enriched in synaptosomes, membrane ruffles and at the tips of lamellipodia. - Information by UniProt

ab108220 at 1 µg/ml detecting CYFIP1 in HeLa whole cell lysate by WB following IP.
Lane 1: IP with an antibody which recognizes an upstream epitope of CYFIP1
Lane 2: ab108220 at 6 µg/mg of lysate
Lane 3: Control IgG.
In each case, 1 mg of lysate was used for IP and 20% of the IP was loaded.
Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds
