Question 1

Friday 04-May-2012

i am encountering a problem with finding the peptide sequences of THE BELOW ON ABCAM WEBSITE ;

Rabbit polyclonal to AIF
ab 1998

Rabbit polyclonal to Bcl2
ab 59348

Rabbit monoclonal [E83-77] to active
Caspase 3
ab 32042

CAN YOU PLS SEND ME THE PEPTIDE SEQUENCES OF THE ABOVE PLS I NEED THEM FOR THE FURTHER STUDIES.

ANSWER:

ab1998 : http://www.abcam.com/ab1998, where the immunogen is described asa peptide corresponding to amino acids 517 to 531 of human AIF. This sequence is identical tothose of mouse and rat AIF.

ab32042 : http://www.abcam.com/ab32042, where the immunogen is described as : a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues following Ser29 of human Caspase 3 (N terminus of p17 subunit).

ab59348 : http://www.abcam.com/ab59348, where the immunogen is described as a synthesized non phosphopeptide derived from human Bcl2 around the phosphorylation site of threonine 69 (ARTPSP).

Question 2

Friday 09-March-2012

I would like to know the concentration of Anti-active Caspase 3 antibody [E83-77] (ab32042).

ANSWER:

Thank you for contacting Abcam.

The concentration for this product is 0.693 mg/mL.

I hope that this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any questions or there are other ways that Abcam may help you meet your research goals.

Question 3

Thursday 02-June-2011

ab32042 is noted to NOT cross react with mouse and rat protein. However, there are some user reviews that show staining in mouse and rat tissue, which the researchers thought looked good. This is confusing.

ANSWER:

Thank you for your enquiry.

I have found that western blotting using ab32042 against mouse and rat tissue lysates showed no reactivity with protein from these species, while reactivity with human caspase 3 was detected. That is the reason we note "Does not react with mouse and rat" on the datasheet for this antibody.

I can not explain the signal from the user-submitted reviews, although its possible the signal is non-specific and misinterpreted by the researchers.

We will still guarantee ab32042 as reactive with human and not with mouse and rat. So if you purchase the antibody and find it does cross react with mouse or rat I can offer you a replacement, credit or refund.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
