Voltage-gated, type I, alpha subunit (SCN1A) is also known as the sodium channel Nav1.1. Nav1.1 is expressed by the myelinated A-fiber neurons in dorsal root ganglion (Fukuoka et al., 2008). We expected staining in large diameter neurons.
The tissues were fixed (animals perfused fixed) with 4% PFA and later postfixed 2 hours in the same fixative. They were cryoprotected in 30% sucrose and cut using a cryostat. This antibody did not work in IHC FoFr.

Abcam response
Many thanks for your feedback on ab24820 (Scn1a antibody) in free floating IHC on rat DRG; this antibody has not been previously tested in this application, your data suggests that ab24820 is unsuitable for use in IHC FoFr in rat DRG.
