Additional Notes
This Ab reagent does not appear to be suitable for rat paraffin wax sections, under the conditions tested by me: no antigen retrieval and Heat-mediated: TRIS pH9 and 10, Citric acid pH6. The sections of rat embyro give indistinct positivity in spinal cord and kidney. The section of adult rat brain appears to give a similar level of positivity. This Ab reagent is not recommended for rat paraffin wax sections, in my opinion, under the conditions tested.
Abcam response
Many thanks for your feedback in IHC-P in rat tissue. As stated on the datasheet for this product, an homology search of the immunising peptide predicts immunoreactivity for mouse and human proteins but not for rat Plexin A2 protein. We would not expect this antibody to detect rat Plexin A2 protein; this is further confirmed by your data.
The reviewer received a reward from Abcam’s Loyalty Program in thanks for submitting this Abreview and for helping the scientific community make better-informed decisions.
