Additional Notes
I used this antibody on sections of rat brain (30 um) in free floating. I tested the antibody at concentrations from 1:100 to 1:3000 and did not obtain any staining with all the dilutions tested. The positive control I used (antibody against NPY) gave a very nice staining on sister sections. Therefore, I think that this antibody does not work on PFA fixed, cryostat cut sections.
The tissues were fixed (animals perfused fixed) with 4% PFA and later postfixed overnight in the same fixative. They were cryoprotected in 30% sucrose and cut using a cryostat.

Abcam response
Many thanks for your feedback. This antibody is predicted to react with rat due to sequence homology although it has not yet been tested for its reactivity to rat GLUT4. We look forward to more feedback from our customers about how useful this antibody is in detecting rat protein in IHC.
The reviewer received a reward from Abcam’s Loyalty Program in thanks for submitting this Abreview and for helping the scientific community make better-informed decisions.
