Question 1

The product desription describes this as being Cy5 antibody. The conjugation notes describe this as being Cy5.2 conjugated. Could you please confirm the label and structure of the fluorophore? |
ANSWER: |
|
Thank you for your enquiry.
I believe Cy5.29 OSu is the same as Cy5, but refers more specifically to the cyanine derivative, a succinimide ester, that is used for conjugation. The following paper describes this ester:
Cytometry. 1990;11(3):418-30. PMID: 2340776
I hope this information helps. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information. |

Question 2

I would like to use this donkey anti-goat secondary for a dual staining flow cytomytry experiment. The other secondary is goat anti-mouse IgG so I was wondering if the donkey anti-goat would recognize the other secondary or would the fluorphore's linked to the goat anti-mouse secondary mask any potential epitopes. Thanks |
ANSWER: |
|
This antibody will indeed recognise the other secondary. You need to use a secondary antibody to the mouse IgG raised in a species other than goat, preferably donkey (if you want to use ab6566). Look for a donkey anti-mouse IgG fluorphore conjugated secondary antibody on the Abcam website.
